David Safranski

Biography
Dave Safranski is originally from Delaware and has been enrolled at Georgia Tech since fall 2003. He will be completing his B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering in spring 2007 and his M.S. in spring 2008. Dave has interned at Sandia National Labs and the Center for Composite Materials at University of Delaware . He is a Department of Homeland Security Scholar. Dave enjoys travelling and studied abroad in Shanghai the summer of his sophomore year . Dave likes volleyball, wine, cheese and dining out.
Research
Currently, Dave's research is focused on the development of novel shape memory polymer systems for biomedical applications. Relating the structure to the thermomechanical properties is part of his master’s thesis. Previously, his research at MedShape Solutions included the manufacturing of orthopedic devices, optimization of the manufacturing process and characterization of the device's mechanical properties.
