Bio

Terra attended West Mesa High School in Albuquerque, NM, graduating in the top ten in her class. She attended the University of New Mexico where she received a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering and participated in undergraduate research at Sandia National Labs for two and a half years. A masters student in Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech, she is involved in the STEP program which fosters interest in science through teaching grades 9-12 chemistry and physics.

Research

Terra is tracking the moduli and associated mechanical properties of poly beta amino ester as it degrades in an in vitro environment. The purpose of her research is to better understand degredation rates when polymers undergo stresses inside the body. She is comparing these tests to ones done without a biological environment in ambient conditions.
